Volunteer for Market Days

Our wonderful volunteers are a special part of Texian Market Days. Whether you choose to dress up in period clothing and engage in battle, show children how to make corn husk dolls or help us run our coke booths, our volunteers are an essential part of this living history festival. We are proud to say we have volunteers who have participated in every Texian Market Days. Join us this year and become part of this fun and educational event!

Volunteer Re-enactors: We accept re-enactors from all of our eras: 1830s, 1860s, 1890s and 1930s. To inquire about working at any of our historic sites, e-mail Krystal Willeby or call (281) 343-0218 extension #278. A registration form can be downloaded here.

Non-Re-enactor Volunteers: We are always looking for traditional volunteer groups as well to help run our hands-on activities and vending booths. To inquire about volunteering at this event in a non-reenactor capacity, e-mail Jessica Avery or call 281-342-6478.

IMPORTANT
Please note the following policy changes to the event

In order to better facilitate the volunteer experience for the event, we are asking all participants to fill out the registration form in advance of this event. Pre-registration closes on October 17th, 2015. These forms will be used to track overall registration numbers so we can assure that we have an adequate food count for both Friday and Saturday. Please note that you must register in advance of the event to receive a lunch pass for these days. We will take registrations at the door, but we unfortunately will be unable to accommodate meals for late registrations as the meals have to be pre-ordered several days in advance.

Once we have received your registration form, we will send you a packet of information that needs to be read and signed and your lunch pass. Parking passes will be distributed upon receipt of the completed packet. Only with the appropriate parking pass will volunteers be allowed to enter the Park upon arriving. The day of the event, visitors with incomplete paper work will be asked to pull over to the side before the bridge into the Park to a pre-designated temporary parking area so the appropriate paperwork can be gathered. We highly encourage pre-registration which will make the new process go much faster and smoother.

For group commanders and leaders, your individual site coordinators can accommodate a group registration form in lieu of individual registration forms. However, each individual re-enactor will be required to fill out the necessary paperwork upon entering the Park. Please contact Krystal Willeby or call (281) 343-0218 extension #278 for more details.
